I'm Back...Sort of
It is Sunday morning and I am starting to get my act together but moving slow. Friday night was the graduation of the 6 -week Leadership Development Course that we had running at the base. The 17 delegates (students) from around Sub-Sahara Africa all expressed how much they were impacted on multiple levels by the course. For me the biggest affirmation was that all the delegates saw the principles being taught also being modeled by the LDC staff.
Yesterday morning I slept in until 7:30 and then spent the day puttering around doing things that have been on hold since June when we began the base renovations in preparation for the LDC. On one hand I felt so tired but yet I just could not relax. I kept thinking of things to do so I bobbed up and down off of the sofa throughout the day. For example, my fridge was in desperate need of defrosting and cleaning! Last evening, I somehow stubbed my toe on the uneven paving slabs that make up my little patio and I fell hard. Skinned both elbows,3 toes on my left foot and have a huge knot on my left thigh. Just call me Grace……and gimpy.
This next week will also be quite busy:
So…a full week. From the 21st I hope to be able to give the base staff several days off as we have all been working hard and steadily since June and we all need a break!
Our auditor has told us that for 2016 onward we must use Quick Books for our base accounting. That will require set up and training; all of which will take place in Nairobi so January is also starting to look like it might be very busy too.
Still aiming for furlough in the summer of 2016 but dates will have to wait.
