We are in the second day of our YWAM KENYA National Staff Conference and it is raining here.   Somehow, we failed to obtain a sound system for the conference and the rain is so hard and heavy on the aluminium roof of the approximatley 40ft x 120ft hall that we cannot hear anyone speaking from the stage.   We moved our chairs as close to the podium as possible but still I found it necessary to lip read. I am doing all of the announcements and have to fill in and give an Operating Location report for an associate who got sick and could not face the 16 hour bus trip---which I totally understood because I have made that trip to his place in the past and it is not for the weak or ailing.  Anyway, I was shouting as loud as I could to people sitting only 4 ft in front of me and still, they couldn’t hear.   We were forced to abandon the nicely decorated Hall and squeeze the meetings into the main building lecture room.
