In March or April this year the government introduced a new style of currency—smaller, more colourful and more secure. Yesterday I went to the bank to make a deposit of money that had been paid in for accommodation and school fees. I handed the teller the cash and deposit slip but the counting machine would not accept one of the 1000ksh and the UV light revealed that it was counterfeit. What a shock! I had to make up the shortage from my pocket. The teller held up the note and, through her plexiglass screen, tried to show me clues to counterfeit. I couldn’t see what she was saying so she suggested that we should get a UV light for our office. Very Good Idea!! From there I went to the dentist to have my new crown fitted and do grocery shopping.
I have no idea how it happened, but my Fitbit says I walked 10,005 steps today.
Ang’ullo arrived back from the WorldCOMP medical camp this morning and this evening he came by my house with a suitcase full of the things that Valerie brought from Seattle. I have really been looking forward to the goodies I ordered, especially…the duct tape😊
The Census Bureau sent out a text message saying “”2019 Census begins tomorrow night & ends on 31st Aug. Kindly ensure you are home. The process takes only 30 minutes. Security will be provided. #Jitokezeuhesabike”” I sure hope they do not come here at night because I am very reluctant to open my compound gate after dark…especially to strangers.
