Christine’s daughter had her body cremated and set the date for the memorial service for 18th September. My return ticket was for 15th September but I began to feel that I should be present to support my brother emotionally through this time and so I checked with the travel agent about changing my ticket and extending my furlough for another 10 days.
I stayed the weekend in Tacoma with my sister Heather and we went together to Orting for Christine’s memorial service. I had already scheduled to spent this last weekend with her , so I did that and enjoyed the change of atmosphere. We had a wonderful time talking about the Lord and getting to know one another. We were enemies all through our growing up years and up until 4 years ago so this time was monumental.
We also spent Saturday with her daughter Adele, who has also come back to the Lord and married a great Christian guy. We watched the DVD War Room, talked about the Lord and prayed together for our family members. Never could have imagined such a thing 10 years ago!! God is SO faithful!
