I will be at home on Christmas Eve but then on Christmas Day I will be meeting Wendy in town at the Blue Room café for coffee, then a tuk-tuk ride to the Anglican Cathedral for church followed by a tuk-tuk back to the Blue Room café for lunch.  The menu is sort of fast food so I am thinking pizza; which sounds really good right now because I haven’t had any bread for a week 😊.  Wendy is originally from U.K. but has lived in Kenya for many years and that is almost all I know about her.   Until her death 3 years ago, my late friend Martha’s family usually invited a number of us single, white, female, expats to their house for Christmas and Easter so that is how, about 10 years ago, I met both Wendy and Freda.   I see Wendy several times a year— primarily Christmas, Easter & her birthday in June—She is a very unique individual and we all need a few of those in our lives to keep us flexible and humble, don’t we?

During the last 3 months I had 2 different week-long bouts of illness which each time resulted in me losing about 3kg weight.  That’s great as far as I am concerned and I am working to drop more before my very tentative furlough in June.
