It is 5:30 Sunday evening and I am sitting out on my patio watching while my dogs & cats eat their dinner. My role is to keep the crows away until the food is gone. The sun has moved far to the west so there is shade and a strong breeze from the ocean and it is very pleasant and restful. There are about a gazillion people on the beach having a great time---so basically, it’s a normal Sunday evening.
I got my laptop back from repair yesterday and it took me several hours to re-install things that got deleted and find things that had been relocated. However, now 2 of my 3 USB ports, my SD card port and my touch pad all work so that is a good thing. Unfortunately, I now also have a big nickel-sized black spot on the left side of my screen about 2 inches below the silver dollar sized spot that was there before. Makes reading the screen a challenge.
This week we are working to re-define the base vision. One of the steps needed as Fridah and Erick take over base leadership and Karen and I step back...and out. Erick’s wife just had a baby and her parents are visiting from Canada so he has taken time off and hasn’t been part of the vision process. So, Karen and I are attending all sessions to give Fridah support but not actively contributing to ideas about the new vision.
Karen is having surgery next week and so will be out for several weeks---until next year I guess. Physically I have totally recovered from my period of sickness in October but I seem to have lost my drive to see things change and improve at the base. Maybe that is a good thing since I am supposed to be starting to disconnect and hand over my responsibilities. It is kind of a weird place to be right now.
