11 October 2015

I am finally starting to get my strength back from this last bout with malaria. 3 weeks is just too-o-o- long to be out of commission!   I did go to work several days last week but only lasted a couple of hours each day (mostly putting out financial fires) before I had to come back home and sleep.  Tomorrow I have to put in a solid 4 hours of work, at the very least and I am not really looking forward to it.

When we ran out of LDC accommodation at the base I offered my house. Originally, I was going to house all 3 of the single female delegates but because I was so sick when the course started, they decided to move the 2 African ladies to the base and just leave me with Karin.  I have been acquainted with Karin since 1993 and we get along well so that having her here has been no hardship at all.  Her husband also came from Nairobi and spent a weekend and actually is coming again at the end of the course in order to be here for the AGM and then they will travel back to Nairobi together.

My brother is keeping me up to date bout his wife’s chemo and all of the challenges that come with it.   It puts my own health issues into perspective and once again I realize how blessed I am to be so healthy.
