24 September 2018

Yesterday was my last Sunday before returning to Kenya, and I attended The Westside Church, my home church (where Richard & Valerie used to be senior pastor).  It was the weekend of the men’s retreat so the congregation was mostly women with a different format, so no time to pray for me.  After the service, I was standing out in the foyer waiting for Valerie and Glenda so we could go out to lunch.  There were quite a number of people (most of whom I didn’t know) milling around visiting and drinking coffee & eating snacks when Valerie suddenly called out “everyone gather round, we need to pray for Kathy as she is going back to Kenya this week.”

So, they all gather around me and began to pray.  In such situations I always wish I had a recorder because it is impossible to remember what is said.  I did however remember a small part of one message by an unknown person—” this will not be an extension of your old assignment; this is a new assignment.”

I believe this was really the Word of the Lord for me during this next season but as yet I do not have understanding of what it specifically means.
