Well, I know Boxing Day is not a day that we Americans take note of (other than as a major shopping day—if that is still true) but here in Kenya it is an official holiday. And also, for many people in Kenya, Christmas means coming to the beach for the holidays. Yesterday (Christmas Day) afternoon there were 12 cars, 2 trucks, 4 tuktuk’s and many pikipiki’s parked outside my compound and I would estimate 400-600 people. Fortunately, for most of the day, none of the cars had their sound systems playing so the only sound was of people laughing and having a good time.
