I have somehow been locked out of my website and my kathyinkenya e-mail account. I just got a new computer and getting data transferred and e-mail accounts activated is ALWAYS a challenge for me.
I haven’t been listening to much of the international news so I have missed the latest bombing updates. In April and May there were several bombings in Mombasa but most of them were in areas of the city that we rarely go. Tourist areas, hotels and large groups of people gathered---I tend to avoid all of these anyway. There was one church located about 5km from us bombed but none of us attend that church and we did not know any of the members so we were not directly affected.
There are minor preventative inconveniences, of course-- being wanded by security guards before entering the grocery store or bank or restaurant…but other than that life goes on as usual.
I have been in Seattle staying with my brother & sister-in-law but have not had a car so that has really restricted my activities. However, since God had instructed me that this was to be a REST furlough, the lack of transport that has been, literally, a God send. My brother lives in a big housing development but it is very quiet and there is a beautiful view from the family room and my bedroom so it is very restful. D & J work outside the home so I have had the house to myself most weekdays and have no excuse for not spending quality time with God.
Yesterday God provided a car for me to use until I leave on 3rd September--a couple from the Westside Church that I have never met. Every furlough God has provided transportation—but never the same way twice.
