Sandy has gained some weight but is still having trouble keeping food down so I took him back to the vet.   Now we discover he has something called throat worm and it is not treatable. It invades the oesophagus tissue and closes it off so the animal can't eat. The vet says that considering Sandy’s level of malnutrition, would be more humane to put him down. So, tomorrow morning I will take him back to the vet.  It is sad because he is such a sweet dog and just now beginning to trust me and follow me around and wanting to be petted. My only consolation is that his last 2weeks of life were full of comfort and caring.
